For the longest time I have been wanting a piece of owl jewelry. I have seen a lot of cute rings and necklaces, but for some reason or another they were never quite right. Recently I was feeding my addiction to online shopping (I need to join a support group) and browsing around on Forever 21. I was really just wanting to buy a pair of shorts I saw on the glamorai, which I did, and I ended up getting a few other things. This wonderful necklace included.

The package arrived today and I love everything I got. That almost never happens, I usually end up returning at least one item, but not this time :)

These photos were taken Fourth of July 2009 in Florida. When we went outside to do fireworks, we noticed a little visitor on a car parked nearby. I think this is really the only time I have ever seen a wild owl out in "nature." It was pretty neat. He only stuck around for a few minutes, but long enough for me to get these shots. I think owls are some of the most interesting birds.

Our house is in desperate need of groceries. Sometimes grocery shopping seems like such a daunting task. Really we should just not let our fridge and pantry get this empty in the first place. At least we no longer have three flights of stairs to carry the bags up like when we were in our apartment.

I usually try to bring my lunch to work as a way to save a little dinero (a.k.a. money). But today I had nothing to bring, and since Jason had the day off work we decided to meet up for lunch downtown. It was nice to get out of the office because this week already seems too long. Do any of you bring your lunch to work? I usually bring a microwave dinner or a sandwich. These choices are starting to get a bit mundane. Any ideas for something else to spice things up??

So my hubby has been missing his wedding ring for about a week now. This time he thinks he lost it for real. As a temporary replacement, he is now wearing a rubber band. lol I guess maybe I should start looking for a real replacement ring.

Today in the paper I read about a cute pet photo contest that would be starting next week. I instantly knew that I had to enter Jack. I mean, I have the cutest dog so it would only be natural for me to enter his photo. And don't worry, I am not a stage mom. I will only do this if he wants it too (which of course he does). The contest will be on Chattapets.com and I will be sure to remind you to vote once the contest starts :)

When I got home from work, I took Jack outside and figured this would be a great time to do his first photo shoot. He got a little bit restless and didn't want to stay still the whole time. I think I still got some adorable shots though. As an added bonus, Otis decided to peak out the window and join the photo shoot.

sneak peak

Hello friends! I just thought I would give you a little sneak peak of my breakfast area redecoration. I know I said (here) that I wanted to get it done in two weeks, but I think it is gonna be just a bit longer. The good news is that we are making progress. lol Stay tuned for the complete project.

We had a really great weekend. Our friends invited us out on their boat Sunday and I am so glad we were able to go. As I've said before, it's been incredibly hot here so we were excited to spend the day on the water. My brother Ryan was with us as well, so we were glad to have him along. There was a small rain cloud that creeped up on us, but the cool drops were actually pretty refreshing in the hotter than hot weather. We had a blast tubing (well I didn't tube), floating in the water and just relaxing on the boat. Thanks Ali and Barret for a great time :)
