i am one lucky lady

This photo was taken on the morning right before my hubby headed out for his interview. This interview was thus far probably the most important interview of our lives together. It was an interview for the CRNA (certified registered nurse anesthetist) program.

Yesterday, he was accepted. He got in!!

This particular program and school is super competitive and I am incredibly proud of him for getting in. He is so smart and super motivated to succeed. I know he will do amazing as he starts back at school this upcoming year, and soon enough he will be the best CRNA in all the land!!

What do you where when you are sick and it's yucky and rainy outside and you have to go to work anyway?

This is it.

I have been feeling pretty icky the last few days and despite my overdose of cold and sinus medicine, vitamins and water - it isn't going away. I think I can safely say that in 2010 I have been sick more times than any other year. ugh...

As you may have guessed, my hubby worked today so I decided to give my self portraits another shot. You might think that they didn't turn out so great, but the blurriness is on purpose my friends. Trust me, you don't want to see the details. Between the throbbing head, dark circles, bright red nose and sickly glow - the details are not so pretty.

This outfit turned out to be great for this gloomy day. But there is one thing I would have liked to have - pockets. I would have liked to have pockets in my sweater to hold my kleenex (my hubby laughs at me when I put kleenex in my pockets because he says I am like an old man). What's wrong with old men?! haha

Despite the way I have been feeling, I am happy because I am blessed :)

i fancied up a couple of vases

As I continue to decorate and re-decorate my home, I am doing my best to be thrifty and save money whenever I can.

For my breakfast area re-do, I knew I wanted to as some splashes of white on the bakers rack. Instead of buying brand new pieces, I used a couple things I already had. I also used left over primer and spray paint from this project.

The vase on the right was already displayed on the bakers rack and the vase on the left is actually a wine bottle that I saved because I liked the design.

Here is the result! The vase on the far right came from Homegoods ($19.99).

Total for this project: $19.99 +tax

Pretty thrifty, huh?!

You remember when I talked about developing my personal style here. Style bloggers continue to be a daily inspiration for me. All day I have been super excited about this post because it is another first for me (my first first here, get it?).

This is my first time wearing leopard print!

I am not sure why, but it just makes me feel like I just got promoted in the fashion world. (don't laugh. haha!)

If you follow me on twitter. You have heard that I am sick. Well I am at the beginning stages of that something going around. I sure wish someone would figure out what something is because it is really an epidemic. I mean I am constantly hearing about people having something.

Anyway, my symptoms are as follows: headache, sinus pressure, fatigue, constant runny left nostril, and slightly achey throat.

Anyone have a clue as to a diagnosis?

For now I am just drinking lots of water and taking my vitamins. I will let you know how it goes. I hope none of you get something.
