california girls weekend adventure part III

On Saturday we went to church and listened to an inspiring sermon at the ReLive church service. Afterwords we met up with my cousin Sarah and her 3 adorable boys. We ate at Eureka Burger and I had their original burger and the most amazing sweet potato fries I have ever had. They poured honey over them and the combined tastes were out of this world. Seriously. The service there was great and I must say that I was impressed with all the places I ate at while I was in Redlands. And if you know me, you know I am serious about my food.

After lunch, we got changed and headed out to Huntington Beach. We had originally planned to go the day before, but the weather forecast wasn't so great. Saturday was supposed to be in the 70's and sunny, but needless to say, we didn't see much sun while we were at the beach. To tell you the truth, we were pretty darn cold the whole time we were there. We just walked around and checked out the shops and then peaked at the beach. We did not even go further than the beach wall - once our feet hit the sand, we felt satisfied enough.

california girls weekend adventure part II

My first few days in California I was in the Redlands area, which is where Lindsay lives. She took me to this little Mexican food joint called El Burrito for lunch and it was delicious. I had the Veggie-Grande burrito, which included this tasty salsa on the side, and with my first bite, I felt like I was in Mexico. It was one of the best tortillas I have ever had and tasted like true authentic Mexican food. Lindsay had chicken tacos with yummy guacamole/sour cream sauce that were equally as delicious. This is definitely a little treasure in Redlands.

Our next stop was to do some shopping at Victoria Gardens. This was an awesome outdoor shopping center with some of my favorite stores. It just so happens that H & M was having a big sale, so needless to say, we spent most of our time in this store. We found some fabulous items for great prices. We don't have an H & M where I live, so I took full advantage of this opportunity. We stopped in some other stores and did a few mini photo ops. I had so much fun with Lindsay this day. It was great to spend quality time with my best friend and I already miss this.

We decided to spread out all of our clothes on Lindsay's bed and take a photo of the damage. I would say that we did pretty good, wouldn't you? :)

california girls weekend adventure part I

I am back home from my California adventure and I am happy to report that I had an amazing time with my girlfriends. We enjoyed every minute of each others company and I think we all were in desperate need of a girls weekend. I must say though, it is good to be back home and in my hubby's arms :)

After a long day of travel, I am pretty exhausted. So I have decided to do a mini series this week and share a little bit of my trip with you over the next few days. As for this post, I will just leave you with a picture of the featured faces of the California girls weekend adventure.

Goodnight my lovely friends!!

I arrived safely at LAX last night and received a warm welcome from my best friend Lindsay (read about our last visit here) and her right hand man, Marley. We drove about an hour to Lindsay's house and both she and Marley made me feel right at home. This morning Marley had a mini photo shoot and I wanted to share his cuteness with you all.

Our girls weekend (plus Marley) has officially begun, and it is wonderful. Lindsay has planned a fun time for us and I plan to enjoy every minute. I arrive back home on Tuesday and I will have lots to share with you then.

Happy Weekend!!

here today, gone tomorrow

I am heading to California tomorrow to visit my friends Lindsay and Melissa, and I get a bonus visit with my cousin Sarah as well. Needless to say, I am super excited about this girls weekend trip. I miss having these girls living near by. Jason was not able to join me on this trip, and I am going to miss him terribly. I really don't like traveling without him, but I am making an exception this time for the sake of some much needed girl time. Plus, his family will still be here so it will be nice for them to be able to spend more time together.

As I was sorting out my clothes on the bed, Jack jumped up and I think he was wanting me to pack him too. I like to think that he is a momma's boy (I'm sure Jason would say different). His face is just so darn cute. How could anyone resist him?!

Since this would be our last night together for a few days, we thought it would be a perfect night for a date night. We decided to do something a little different and we started our night by going to an open casting call for models and actors. Neither of were looking to seriously pursue these careers, we just thought it might be interesting to go. We didn't end up staying the whole time because it was taking too long and we got bored with the process, so we both agreed that a perfect way to end the evening would be to share some delicious ice cream from Cold Stone; flavor of choice tonight was Mud Pie Mojo. Yummy!!
