pool crashers

This past Sunday we spent a little time at my mom's pool.  You may notice that in the summer time, the pool is a constant theme for us.  When it's hot outside and the sun is shining, we can't think of anything better than being water side.  Pool or beach.  Thankfully, Jack shares our feelings about this.  I know he is wondering when we will take him back to the beach.  I don't think it will be this year, so the pool will have to do for now.

Thanks mom for letting us crash your pool all the time! :)

memorial day weekend

Jason and I both had a three day weekend for Memorial Day, woohoo!  That meant we got to spend the whole weekend hanging out.  The weather was gorgeous, which gave us the opportunity to get in plenty of pool time at my mom's house.  These photos were from Sunday when we brought Jack along with us.  He loves the water and also loves my brother Ryan!

It was so nice to be able to relax and go with the flow without any set plans.  We were able to enjoy dinner and a movie one evening with some great friends.  We finally watched the Hunger Games - I know, it came out like a million years ago.  I have read the first two books, so I have been dying to see it and just as I have heard, it did not disappoint.

I would also like to take a moment to say thank you to all the men and women who have served in the military.  Our country is forever in debt to the sacrifices you have made and continue to make.  Thank you!!

goodbye funk status

I feel like it's all too easy to get stuck in a funk.
Get up. Go to work. Come home from work. Eat dinner. Watch tv. Go to bed. Do it all over again.
Yesterday, while I was at work, I realized that my week has sort of started out that way.  So I decided that when I got home, we needed to head to the pool.
I just needed to be outside. In the sun. And away from anything close to that funk status.  Since it is still blazing hot here, the pool was the obvious choice. And a great choice because we had the pool all to ourselves for a little while.  Thus allowing me to snap some photos without feeling embarrassed. ha!
What do you like to do to get out of your funk status?

splish splash - take 2

I wonder if I am breaking some sort of blogging rule by writing about the pool two days in a row... Well that's too bad.  Because I went to the pool Sunday and Monday, I'm just crazy like that.
The truth is, work has been a little boo boo lately and the only thing that could possibly make me feel better was a date at the pool with my hubby.  So once I got home from work, we threw on our suits and headed to the water.
It was so refreshing and just what the doctor ordered.  Plus, the heat index reached triple digits today people.  That is hot.  The pool was the only logical way to cool down.

One of my favorite things to do in the summer time is go to the pool.  I just love the refreshing feeling of the water on these hot and humid days.  I also love getting a good dose of vitamin d into my system, it's just good for the soul.

Christy and Shawn joined us this time.  She is about to have a baby next month, so she was loving the cool water!
Hubby is such a good student and he brought some of his stuff to study.  He makes me so proud :)

some iphone photos of our weekend

Happy Fourth of July everyone!!
Today hubby and I are planning to take it easy and get some stuff done around the house.
Here are some iPhone photos from our weekend.

Hubby and I enjoyed an impromptu date night with dinner followed by a trip to Target.
For the kiddos last day here, we decided to hang out poolside and enjoy some food!
Isn't Adelynn so cute sporting her Barbie sunnies?! And Kaleb with his mouth of missing teeth; he even lost one while he was here.  Luckily the tooth fairy didn't mind traveling to Tennessee :)

swell dress, bathing suit from tjmaxx, aldo sunglasses

It has been so incredibly HOT and HUMID this past month. We completely skipped spring and went straight into summer this year. Anytime I have the opportunity to dip in some water, I would be a fool to pass it up. Today after work, I got to take a dip in a pool with some family and friends.
Jack is trying to get used to the idea of swimming, so we will continue working on it.

*As always friends, protect your skin and wear sunscreen*
