exciting weekend ahead

We made it!! It is the weekend and I am super happy! I think the first full week back after a holiday is always a little rough. I figured the best way to celebrate was to have a bathroom photo shoot, I can tell you are excited ;)

This weekend is going to be great. Why? you ask, well let me tell you why:

Church and then lunch at one of my aunt's house with family
Date night with hubby
Hubby's work Christmas party (they do it later since the holidays are so crazy)
Run with my Aunt Tresa
Birthday lunch for my brother
Bowling party for my brother
Forecast calls for snow Sunday evening

The best part? Hubby has all weekend off! Yes!! I told you this weekend is going to be good. I am secretly hoping we get snowed in on Monday morning. Hubby doesn't work Monday and I would love an extra day to sleep in and cuddle. A girl can dream, right?

What do you have planned for this weekend?

super jack

This is Jack.
Jack likes to follow me around everywhere I go.
Seriously.
Sometimes he will just sit there and stair at me and I have no idea what he wants. I really wish I could read his mind because I bet he thinks about fascinating things. Or maybe he just thinks about food, treats and toys.

The weather has been yucky and rainy all day. Plus hubby is working late tonight. So I decided to take it easy and relax after work. A nice hot bath was just what the doctor ordered. Of course, as you can see in the photos above, Jack was right there to make sure everything went okay. He cracks me up. He is actually very protective of me. It was like he wanted to make sure I didn't drown in the tub. My hero. ha!

the days just keep getting longer

The days are getting longer and this makes me really happy.
I especially notice this on my week day runs with my aunt. We usually do two short runs during the week after work and we do our long run on the weekend. For the past month or so we have been running in the dark during the week, which is not really my fave. It's also been super cold. Tonight, however, when we started our run, it was still light out. This makes me smile.

Okay, I have a confession to make.
This sweater is new.
I bought it on Sunday.
I know, I know it's not on my 'need list'. However, I believe it was a smart purchase and, of course, it was on sale. It was regular price $44.99 and I got it for $19.99, that's over 50% guys! I know that this sweater will easily become a staple in my closet - it's versatile and neutral and super cute. I love it!

First day of work this year. Ugh.
I was hoping to start off the year with a bang, you know, really have a great first day back at work after the New Year holiday. That didn't happen.
2011 came and the internet at work now things it must be 2011 times slower than normal. Annoying.

Okay, so this whole post will not be me complaining about work.
Let's talk about how hubby is making me a yummy pot of soup for dinner (no, i'm not eating the whole pot tonight silly). Or maybe how hubby took down all the outdoor Christmas decorations (mixed feelings about this one). Or there is my favorite part about the night so far, hubby turning up the music and doing a little dance for me (don't tell him i told, he just might tickle me to death). Basically, hubby is rocking things in this New Year.

I just love him to death, the tickle sort of death that is ;)

a couple photos from new years and a running update

For New Year's Eve we went over to our friend's, Tanner and Kelly's, house. They also happen to live in our neighborhood, so it's always pretty convenient for us to hang out. It's a good thing we live so close too, because we had to make several trips back home because we forgot things and also wanted to change into comfy clothes later in the night. ha!

I have to admit, I had a hard time staying up late. I must be getting old. On New Year's Day I was pooped from staying up so late! Oh well, it was worth it. We had a great time hanging out with friends, chaperoning the impromptu dog party (another perk of living so close), and playing Just Dance 2. I couldn't think of a better way to bring in the new year.
What did you guys do? Did you watch the ball drop?

Running Update:

This weekend I accomplished yet another milestone in my running. My aunt and I did a 10 miler! Our training schedule only required that we do 9.5 miles, but we figured we were so close; why not just make it 10?! We completed it just under 2 hours at 1:57:29.
I am definitely tired tonight, and my knees are pretty sore. I have noticed that my left leg gives me more issues than my right. I am going to look into making some modifications, like wearing a knee brace. Hopefully this will help.
Today I also used my new ipod nano for the first time. I loved it! Can you believe this is my first time listening to music while I run? I have been missing out.
