jack. zoey. tina.

{jack=dog, zoey=white cat, tina=brown cat}

Here is a little glimpse of my furry children and what they've been up to lately.  Laying around, of course.  Someone mentioned once how lucky I was that all my animals got along, and it's so true.  Jack is so gentle with the cats and they pay him back by showing him love.  They make me so proud :)

hooray for national pet week

Welcome May!
This month is going to bring a lot of great things; we leave for a little vacation this week, hubby has a birthday, hubby starts the CRNA program and it is National Pet Week.
That's right, the first week of May is National Pet Week.  So of course I am going to dedicate this post to my furry friends.  Also, hubby and I are headed a little farther south to the beach so I have some special treats planned for you guys - I have some awesome guest bloggers scheduled for you who are also going to share their furry friends! Stay tuned :)

Jack is seriously the greatest dog ever.  I would say his trade mark move is the head tilt.  His favorite things to do are take walks and play fetch.  Jack does so well with meeting new people and he is even a pro with small kids and babies.  I can't wait to take him to the beach for the first time this week - it is so fun to watch him discover new things.
Zoey is the newest pet in our house.  You might remember when we found her last fall.  She has been the perfect addition to our home.  She loves to sit in your lap and cuddle.  Zoey always seems to find the sneakiest places to lay - this photo is her in my closet.  Usually the animals are not allowed in the closet, but I'm not shocked she snuck in. ha!
Tina is our little hunter.  If ever a bug sneaks into the house, she will hunt it down and get rid of it for us.  She also has a very sweet side.  She follows me all around in the morning when I get ready; meowing and demanding my attention.  She will even wrap her arms around my leg and give me a little nibble if I ignore her for too long.  She is persistent just like her mommy :)

I also want to make a special mention that all of our animals were rescues in some way or another.  There are so many animals out there that are just waiting for a loving home.  A great site to find available animals in your area is Petfinder - that's where we found Jack.
And like Bob Barker always said, help control the pet population and have your pets spayed or neutered.

bubbles

Today started out with hubby and I sleeping late and being awakened by his work calling asking where he was. oops. We both took Nyquil last night because we are both sick and apparently it worked so well that we slept right through the alarm.
That's right, I am sick again. ugh.  I have been feeling extra tired and have had little energy this week.  I am not complaining, but to put some icing on the cake, I got my monthly bill today (ladies you know what I'm talking about).
Needless to say, when I got home today I immediately started getting a hot bath ready.  Boy did it feel great.  And of course Jack and Zoey were right there to scope things out.  I topped things off with some bubbles and wine and I started feeling better right away :)

I hope you all have been enjoying your week!

kitty cone

Our baby Zoey got spayed yesterday.  I picked her up today after work and they informed me that she had to wear a kitty cone because she was licking her stitches.  Isn't she just precious?!
She just sits in my lap purring and cuddling.  She is such a trooper.
My weekend will be filled with taking care of our little girl.
What are you up to this weekend?

comfy clothes and weekends are my fave

I love relaxing weekends at home.  If you come and visit me at home on the weekend, I am almost always guaranteed to be in my comfiest clothes.  Comfy clothes are my fave.

p.s. that is one of our fave engagement photos in the background.  i love walking by it everyday.

welcome february

Aren't these two cute?! I am so glad they get along well.

If you follow me on twitter, you know that I think February is one of the greatest months of the year.
Let me tell you why.
  • The lovey dovey holiday - Valentine's Day
  • New York Fashion Week (which I hope someday I will be able to attend)
  • The most important day of the year - my birthday!
  • A trip to Florida
  • I will be running my very first half marathon
  • The fact that there is only 28 days. Way to be unique February.

Do you have any special plans this month?  What is your favorite month of the year?

a little bit of nothing with some zoey sprinkled on top

Hey guys. So I was sitting on the couch in some comfy clothes cuddled up in a blanket, trying to think of something to write about for this post, and I came up with nothing.

side note:
If you follow my twitter, you are probably tired of my debbie downer, poor me, i don't feel good tweets. Well too bad, because I just feel terrible. I am sick again and feeling even worse than last time.

As I was saying, I have nothing worth sharing because my brain is currently not functioning at it's top potential. But as I was tapping away aimlessly on the computer, my little love Zoey came to give me company - and as it turns out - something to share with you.
She was so cute watching me type and getting up several times to rearrange and get comfortable. Zoey has really turned out to be such a loving and friendly kitty. This makes me so happy. And can you believe how big she has gotten?! I remember when she was just a wee little kitten ready to eat me alive.

the fire is so delightful

Today after work, I got a massage. The last time I had one was in February, it was super overdue. Especially after all the traveling I have done lately, my body has been real achy.
To put it simply, I feel great and tonight I just plan on relaxing.

On another note, our animals LOVE sitting in front of the fire. I captured a few photos of each of them; they are sooooo cute! I just love this time of year when we can put on the fire and light up our Christmas tree :)

what a crazy weekend

I need to apologize friends, I did not get a chance to blog Sunday evening. Why? Oh because I had a CA-razy busy weekend.
Here are a few pictures of what went on, in particular order:

We continue to be amazed at all the odd spots/positions Zoey finds herself in.
I made my beautiful niece a tutu for her 1st birthday (December 5).
Hubby got a little razor happy and accidentally gave himself a bald spot. Needless to say, he barely has hair now. haha { don't tell him i told you ;) }
I made my first Thanksgiving dish of the year: Roasted garlic squash with crispy sage brown butter.

Things not photographed:
I ate lunch with my family.
I visited my cousin and his super duper cute little boy.
I did it guys, I ran six miles!!! Our time was 1:11:00. Not too shabby :)
Hubby and I ran errands all over town.
I went to a Mary Kay spa party.
See?? I told you I was busy!
Now I really really need to get a head start on my packing. (I tried to convince Tania she should pack for me, since she did a splendid job!)
We are headed to Florida for the holiday to spend time with my wonderful in-laws. I can't wait!!

its a love hate relationship

This photo pretty much sums up how Tina and Zoey's relationship started out. Tina was not a fan of our new addition.

Over the last few weeks, Tina has been coming around. One minute they might be fighting, but then they will be sleeping together the next minute.

Tina is for sure the queen of the house. She is also super sweet too. We are not sure of her exact age, but we are saying she is five years old and her birthday is....okay we haven't decided that yet. (we adopted her when she was a few years old)

Zoey is getting so big! She has grown quite a bit in the last few weeks, she now weighs in at 2lbs 14oz. If you look closely you might notice that she has a bit of a cross eye. lol Her nickname has become Little One, which we find ourselves calling her that more than Zoey.

meet zoey.

I would like to formally introduce you to the newest member of our family, Zoey. You might remember her from here.
She has come a long way since that fateful day she came to our doorstep and she has definitely warmed our hearts. She is a Siamese cross and as of yesterday she weighed in at a hefty 1lb and 1oz.

Zoey loves to talk . . .

. . . and find unique places to cuddle up.

She is not a fan of baths.

She has met Jack . . .

. . . and they became fast friends and playmates.

We are so happy to have this new addition and we hope some day Tina will be happy too.

meow
