Yes!!! It's the weekend and I am soooo happy :)
I have been thinking for a while now about starting to do recipe posts on here. I love cooking and trying new meals. It would only make sense to share the good ones with you guys. What do you think? Would you like to see a recipe label on the blog?
Today I tried a new Beef Stew recipe in the crock pot and it turned out great (plus it was easy peasy). Hubby and I had a friend over for dinner to serve as our guinea pig. The verdict: success!
Most people like to trial recipes before serving it to guests. Me? I like to include my guests in my cooking ventures. ha!
Beef Stew - makes 6 servings
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup baby carrots
2 cups sliced celery
1 pound red potatoes, scrubbed and cubed
2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into chunks
2 teaspoons dried thyme leaves
1 can (14 1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes with juice
3/4 cup water
1 can tomato paste
- Place onion evenly over the bottom of the crock pot. Add the following ingredients in this order: carrots, celery, potatoes, and beef. Sprinkle thyme. Pour diced tomatoes and water over the top of the beef.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours until meat is tender. Stir in tomato paste and re-cover.
- Cook 10 minutes longer. Enjoy! (i usually serve with cornbread)
Happy Weekend my friends!!
