I watched this show for the first time tonight. Loved it. I think it will be one of my new regulars. I would recommend you checking it out, I think it's definitely gonna be good.
I would like to formally introduce you to the newest member of our family, Zoey. You might remember her from here.
She has come a long way since that fateful day she came to our doorstep and she has definitely warmed our hearts. She is a Siamese cross and as of yesterday she weighed in at a hefty 1lb and 1oz.
Zoey loves to talk . . .
. . . and find unique places to cuddle up.
She is not a fan of baths.
She has met Jack . . .
. . . and they became fast friends and playmates.
We are so happy to have this new addition and we hope some day Tina will be happy too.

This is probably one of my new favorite outfits (minus the wrinkles).
I will let you in on a little secret, when I started this blog I really was not sure of it's purpose. Writing and posting pictures was like therapy to me. This blog was an ongoing project that always gave and still gives me something to look forward to.
Throughout my blogging life, I have found so many amazing blogs that I enjoy reading on a regular basis. I have stumbled upon an enormous amount of inspiration.
One thing that I have started developing and defining, thanks to the blog world, is my personal style. Before I really couldn't define my style and I really did not find my closet inspiring. Thanks to some amazing fashion bloggers, I am learning what I like and how an outfit can truly be an expression and a statement.
Fashion is an art. There is no right or wrong. We are all different.
I still have a ways to go in developing my personal style, but I am really loving the process. A lot of the clothes and accessories I love do not quite fit into my current budget, thus I am learning to be creative and I am fine tuning my bargain hunting skills.
So stay tuned to watch my definition of fashion change and evolve.
Over the weekend we went to the Chattanooga Market. It has been a while since we have gone and we picked the perfect time to go. It was the Culture Festival weekend.
This time at the market I made two awesome discoveries and for once I actually had cash (thank you yard sale) to splurge a little.
The first thing I found was this unique bead bracelet that was made by women in Uganda. The beads are made from recycled paper and they are really cute. The organization is called Beads for Life and it is a great idea and awesome cause. I got a green bracelet.
The second thing I found was the most delicious vegan apple pocket. Oh my goodness, it was so good that we bought some extra to bring home with us. Jason got the cherry ones. Yummy!!
Saturday night we went out with some friends to Chilli's to watch the game. Jason was meeting us there when he got off work, so Shawn and Christy picked me up. I got to ride in the back of his new (new to him) '75 Camaro.
This baby was pretty awesome. I love vintage cars. It's almost like you get to travel back in time for that short car ride. Words/phrases I would use to describe the ride: speed, noise and wind blown hair.
Words/phrases to describe our night: laughter, two for one and good times with great friends.

As I was going through bags and boxes to get ready for our yard sale, I came across a load of all my childhood stuffed animals and dolls. I was almost instantly taken back in time as I remembered all the fun times and special times I had with these toys.
Really, they were more than toys to me as a child, they were my friends.
I started feeling quite nostalgic and I will be honest . . .
I kept a few.
Okay, more than a few.
But they just don't make 'em like this anymore. I mean, Rainbow Bright for goodness sake. There is no way I will give her up. I am convinced that my kids will someday love the toys that I loved as a child. ha!
I was hoping to do an outfit post tonight, but this week I have been waaaaaaaaay behind on things. This weekend is our neighborhood yard sale and I have procrastinated until tonight to get everything put out and priced. So for tonight I will leave you with a photo of our messy garage filled with trash/treasures. Next week this blog will be back in full swing!
Today my local newspaper said, and I quote, "Boots and sweaters can stay in storage."
My heart sank just a little bit when I read this. I obviously can feel that the summer heat is still in full force, but to read it in the paper made it just that much more official. It is now the fall season and I want the fall weather (picture me stomping my feet a yelling while saying this).
This entire summer has been filled with brutally hot weather and I am sooooooo over it.

We were on our way to some friends' house for dinner the other night when we drove by a railroad crossing. It was the perfect place to take some photos, so I begged the hubby to stop real quick.
I realized that I didn't have my camera on hand {totally not normal for me, that thing is usually glued to my hip} so we used the camera on my phone instead. The quality is obviously not as good, but I still like them.
It seemed like the weather was finally starting to feel like fall, but now the temperature has creeped back up the the 90's. What's up with that?? Luckily it does cool down in the evenings somewhat, but it's still way too hot to pull out my fall clothes just yet. I am ready to wear layers, but mother nature has other ideas right now I guess.
I am thrilled to have reached this milestone in my little blogs life.
I have enjoyed posting and sharing photos and experiences and other little treats with you.
I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I have.
A special thanks to all of you that have been with me since the beginning.
I look forward to many more months, even years of blogging :)
Now onto my great camping adventure!
We went to Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains. It was gorgeous. We had an awesome time with our family. We enjoyed seeing beautiful scenery and wildlife. We saw so many wild turkeys, deer, birds, a bear cub and a coyote. Our camp site had no electricity or showers AND I did an 11 mile bike ride around the cove. (the last time I rode a bike it probably had streamers on the handles and a bell. haha!) I for sure pushed my limits this weekend and enjoyed every minute. This trip was exactly what the doctor ordered. Oh and Jack did wonderful! He is now officially a camping dog :)
{jason was pretty excited about Florida's win over the weekend}
I had an amazing weekend camping with my hubby and some family. I can't wait to tell you about it, but I am soooooo exhausted from all the fun. I am gonna hit the hay early tonight, but I will be back tomorrow evening to share more photos and some stories with you.
For now I will just leave you with this little preview of the gorgeous place we spent our time at.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. They really do seem to go by way too quickly.
Do I really have to go to work tomorrow? Does anyone want to take my place? :)
This blog is about my life, so here it is. I had a really rough night and don't have the energy to do a "real" blog post. But since I am leaving for camping tomorrow, I will not get a chance to update again until Sunday. This camping trip could truly not come at a better time. I need some serious time out in nature to spend some time with God and true family and reflect on some things.
So basically I am just wanting to say that I hope you all have a great weekend and I hope that I come back from this trip feeling refreshed and at peace!
We are going camping this weekend and I am super excited. This will be Jack's very first camping trip. Yay! I even found him this awesome doggie hiking backpack. It holds water like a camelbak and also has a pouch for some goodies. He is really looking forward to camping. I think he will be a pro.
This trip will be the first time we get to use our new tent. We upgraded to a four person tent to accommodate Jack. Since we have never even put the tent up before, I decided to surprise Jason and put it up in the house as a "trial." ha! I love it! I am contemplating sleeping in it tonight...
I can't wait to get out into nature and leave all our worries behind :)
Hello Friends! I decided to share with you what I am wearing today. I wanted to be simple, yet chic for work. This was a very easy outfit to throw together because there are not a lot of elements, but I still really like it.
(I was also looking for an excuse to use this new photo app on my phone) ha!
And I noticed I have 50 followers now, WELCOME!! Thanks for taking the time to share my life with me :)
banana republic shirt, express pants, nine west shoes, verizon android phone vignette app :)
